I am often asked how my dev setup is and to be honest, coming from both Apple and Windows, there are a couple of things I use on my day-to-day basis. I tried to list out everything I use to the detail of all my uses.
Editor + Terminal
- Visual Studio Code is my current editor for everything web related, and I use the following settings
- I also use WebStorm extensively at work
- I use Material Theme for both the aforementioned editors
- I use cmder on Windows, terminal on Mac
- I'm currently using Fira Code for all my editors, including it's Ligatures
- Most used browser is Chrome, and I usually also use Edge and Firefox for cross-browser testing
Desktop Apps
- I use Mailspring as my email client for Windows
- I use Spark Mail app for Mac
- I use the Matcha theme for MailSpring
- I use hwinfo64 for monitoring my PC fans
- PowerToys for color code checker, power rename, power search
- Notepads for all my notes
- Postman for all my API testing
- I design almost entirely in Figma
- I backup all my important files with Google's Backup & Sync
Desk Setup
- My main monitor is a Dell 27" IPS, 4ms at 75Hz (FreeSync)
- To my left I run a Samsung 24" LED, 4ms at 60Hz (FreeSync)
- Both my monitors are mounted on a dual monitor mount from HUANUO
- The chair I use is a gaming chair from AMINITURE
- My desk is an Ikea standing Skarsta 47" white
- I also use a Mid-2014 13.3" MacBook Pro (pre covid)

- My keyboard
iswas a Logitech K360 wireless - I run a Dell XPS 15 9560 and use a QGeeM USB-C adapter to connect to my dual monitor while having it docked on the wall with a Dockem Koala Mount
- The keyboard I use is a Arteck 2.4G Wireless Keyboard (Ultra Slim) - i.e. most closest to mac keyboard btw (believe me I've vetted MULTIPLE keyboards for this)
- I use a 5D wireless, ergonomic, and vertical mouse
